Congrats!

I see Blogger has been profiled in the latest issue of Fortune magazine as a cool technology. I was interested to see that Blogger's "offices" were not in a SF high-rise or SOMA warehouse and did not have one Aeron chair in sight. I guess you can build a successful (one assumes) business without all those dotcom acoutrements. Ahem, I have two Aeron chairs in my house, but I got them when our SF office was closed (paid $100 each) so I consider them as part of my severance package.

In other news, I've completed my corporate communications final paper and now have a healthy dislike of ExxonMobil and its CEO, Lee Raymond. He's the CEO who, when Exxon bought Mobil, decided that Mobil's domestic partners benefits could hit the street as they merged. He also thinks global warming is bunk and that the US should not sign the Kyoto accord. If you're curious, the Brits have a boycott going called Stop Esso that, given the ferocity of ExxonMobil's response, must be hurting.

To celebrate D's new job, we're going to Pensacola for the weekend! Yea!! All the hotels are full for some high school band competition, so it should be an interesting time on the beaches and at Emerald City.

Circuitous Route

I'd appreciate it if someone could explain this to me.

Hello

It's been a busy few weeks. A lot has happened.

  • I've sold two houses.
  • I've completed two more courses at Tulane. I mailed in my accounting final today and now I start my corporate communications final.
  • D got a job last Friday!!!!!!!!!!!

More on all of this later.

We saw Star Wars last night. It was pretty bad. It would have been better if those two pretty young kids could act (Natalie and Hayden). Hayden is definitely easy on the eyes and I did appreciate the nightmare scene with a tantalizing look at his left nipple, but, Jeez, the boy is awful. Am I the only one to wonder how it is that Aniken could age ten years and Padme none? I can't remember the last time I saw a major movie where the two lead actors spoke in monotone. A long 150 minutes.

George, you can do much better than this!
