On Wisconsin
We spent the weekend in our French Quarter apartment.
As our friend Corn Liquor Lloyd says, we were all "overserved" Friday night and spent Saturday recovering and repenting. Not all of us fell into the trash can at the Pub and needed three people to pull us out (you know who you are), but we were all feeling some sort of pain the next day. Many thoughts cross your mind as you sit on your Royal Street balcony drinking your CC's coffee and watch the world (and tourists) go by.
Sitting on a French Quarter balcony with a soft breeze blowing is as close to "priceless" as you can get in this town.

- There was once a time when if you wanted to hear some music, you had to play a musical instrument yourself. Think about that the next time you drive through the French Quarter with your house music/disco/rock/hiphop blaring out of your car.
- Winning a Bingo game at Oz Friday night and getting the prize from Bianca del Rio can make the next day's suffering worthwhile (the umbrella game is your friend!).
- There are actually some good art galleries in the French Quarter; they don't all push a colored animal that, although it probably takes 20 minutes to produce, commands a king's ransom in price. I visited Michalopoulas' gallery and really enjoyed his concave perspective of New Orleans' architecture.
- That street performer playing your favorite football team's fight song may not be your friend. To quote him after you gave him $1 for playing "On Wisonsin" as you walked to your Green Bay Packer game, "Sucker!"
